summer before college
I feel as if a lot of people don’t tell you that the summer after high school and before college is one of the most confusing and bittersweet summers you will ever have. I’m not saying it won’t be a great summer at all, but there is so much change that it is almost unbearable. Maybe it isn’t this way for all people, but when I really sat down and thought about it, this is a summer that will shift the course of my life. I started to think about the fact that I am almost 18 and a lot of people my age got pets when they were younger and by now those pets are almost 18 themselves in human years and they are dying. So fresh out of high school, you may lose your first childhood pet. Golly gee what fun. Then, there is the thought of move-in day slowly creeping up on you like a dark shadow ready to attack. This summer is full of so much temporary things that it should come with a warning saying; HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS LADIES AND GENTLEMAN NOTHING THIS SUMMER IS FOREVER SO JUST RIDE THE TIDE. Am I right?! Now I hope i don’t have you thoroughly convinced I am a pessimist (believe me I’m not, I enjoy all things donuts and being thankful for every little thing in my life) but sometimes it is a little eye opening when you really sit back and think “wow, my life is about to change so much and so fast but I’m going to sit here and eat 8 chicken wings because I’m an American and I can do that. I feel as if I may be talking into the void that is Tumblr, but hey it may be worth something.
